Jun Hyun-moo joins Running Man to fill Kim Jong-kook's vacant spot.
The SBS entertainment program Running Man, airing today (5th), features a Chuseok special in which the members compete in a "status-based race," and Jun Hyun-moo and Jung Seung-hwan make special appearances in place of Kim Jong-kook.
This recording took place to celebrate Chuseok. Yoo Jae-suk and HaHa appear as high officials, and the other members appear in familiar servant attire. Jun Hyun-moo and Jung Seung-hwan, who appeared to fill the gap left by Kim Jong-kook, who was absent on his honeymoon, drew attention from the moment they appeared.
Kim Jong-kook married a non-celebrity woman on Sep. 5 and attracted attention for keeping everything from guests to the venue and schedule strictly secret.
The Running Man members were surprised to see Jun Hyun-moo, who reappeared on Running Man for the first time in 12 years, saying, "Why are you here?" As soon as Jun Hyun-moo appeared, he picked up a leek prop and shouted, "I am the leek guy," provoking laughter with a character-unifying gag that spanned Running Man, Home Alone and Omniscient Interfering View. Having been active only under fluorescent lights, fans are eager to see what kind of variety sense he will show under the sun after a long time.
The theme of this race is "the high official's crops," a large-scale Chuseok special game in which the crops of two high official households must be harvested. The high official can adjust the market price of the crops, but the servants must work without knowing that fact. On the other hand, the high official cannot know which crops the servants actually harvest, leading to a psychological battle of deception. The members promised big laughs by staging a "every man for himself race" disguised as coexistence.
In particular, Jun Hyun-moo and Jung Seung-hwan perfectly pulled off servant costumes from their first appearance and turned the scene into a sea of laughter. Jun Hyun-moo, who has not done much outdoor variety recently, showed off his trademark wit even in an unfamiliar environment, and Jung Seung-hwan drew teasing from the members with unexpected variety sensibility.
