On the 5th, KBS' 'News9' aired, featuring the king of singers Cho Yong-pil, who marked his 57th anniversary since debut.
Cho Yong-pil, when told that he has never been labeled "old-fashioned" even after 57 years since his debut, replied, "I released songs without resting. Because I communicated." He emphasized that the effort of continuously presenting new music and connecting with the public created the king of singers' ongoing-class that transcends eras.
He also gave an honest answer about the secret to his unchanging, overwhelming vocal power. Cho Yong-pil asserted, "Practice. If you don't practice, you can never maintain it," and added, "Even if you skip for just a month, it's already different. To restore it, you have to practice several times."
Regarding future activity plans, he also revealed deep affection for his fans. Cho Yong-pil said emphatically, "Even now they ask if I will retire. I plan to do it as long as I can."
He continued, "But one day my voice might not come out. Then I won't be able to do it, right? I thought about what my fans would feel then," showing consideration for the feelings of fans who cherish him.
