Singer and actress IU gave generous Chuseok gifts to all staff of "21st century daegunbuin".
Recently a staff member of MBC's new drama "21st century daegunbuin" posted several photos on their personal SNS along with the comment "Because it's Chuseok we did a lucky draw and I drew one don of gold."
In the released photos there is a one-don gold piece engraved with the title "21st century daegunbuin" along with a red envelope bearing the same lettering.
The staff member added the comment, "Senior IU gave 500,000 won gift certificates to all staff."
"21st century daegunbuin" is set in 21st-century constitutional monarchy Korea and depicts the fate-defining, class-breaking romance between Sung Hee-ju (played by IU), a woman who is a chaebol with everything but is annoyed by her commoner status, and Prince Ian Daegun Lee Wan (played by Byeon Wooseok), a man who is the king's son but is sad because he can have nothing.
IU is known as one of the stars who sends gifts to acquaintances every holiday. Regarding this, IU said, "I started when I was young and now I can't stop," and added, "If I meet new people I write them down in a notebook and update the list."
Especially as Chuseok approached during drama filming, it appears she sent her feelings to all "21st century daegunbuin" staff through gift certificates.
Meanwhile, IU has been publicly dating actor Lee Jong-seok since 2022.
