Typhoon Family is a work that depicts the struggles and growth of novice company man Kang Taepung (Lee Junho), who becomes the president of a trading company with no employees, no money and nothing to sell during the 1997 IMF crisis. The role stars 2PM member and actor Lee Junho, praised for The Red Sleeve Cuff and King the Land, raising fans' expectations.
Especially, Typhoon Family, set in the late 1990s, draws attention as a work that will stir cultural nostalgia for the fashions and popular music of the time. In response, lead actor Lee Sangjin joked, "We really paid attention to the clothes themselves. The hairstyle on the right isn't showing well now. We focused on it even sacrificing visibility."
Kim Jaehwa also emphasized, "For the costumes, the production team had the costume department make them directly. They are very precious costumes to me." The production team added, "Kang Taepung's character has the vibe of a boss's son. (Lee Junho) said he paid a lot of expense himself."
