Trendsetter Lee Hyori once again opens a new world of "K-beauty."
Lee Hyori proved her presence as an icon encompassing beauty and fashion as the MC of Coupang Play variety show "Just Makeup," whose episodes 1–3 were released on the 3rd.
Upon her appearance that day, she received enthusiastic cheers from the 60 participants. "A top star everyone wants to work with at least once," "the dream of people who do makeup," and other high praise continued for Lee Hyori, an icon leading the times.
Lee Hyori, taking on the role of MC for a survival program 16 years after her debut, maintained a subtle tension while offering meticulous consideration so participants could fully demonstrate their makeup skills.
"If I have been in the spotlight until now, I want the people working hard behind the scenes to get more attention," she said at the production press conference, and Lee Hyori made sure each participant's makeup stood out more. To that end, she immediately asked participants on site questions viewers might be curious about, such as the intention behind their makeup, playing a role in scratching the audience's itch.
In particular, Lee Hyori's MC skills shone even more during mission announcements. Seeing participants nervous before the first mission, she lightened the mood by saying, "Good luck." While explaining the second mission, when one participant guessed, "Isn't it doing makeup in 10 minutes?", she wittily replied, "I'll try adding 'Just Ten Minute Makeup' to that," drawing laughter.
Meanwhile, Coupang Play variety show "Just Makeup," in which Lee Hyori serves as MC, is a massive makeup survival in which makeup artists representing K-beauty from Korea and beyond fiercely compete with their own colors, and it is released every Friday at 8 p.m.
