'Immortal Songs' Chuu transforms into a Barbie doll through her first solo appearance. In particular, interest is heightened as Chuu is said to disarm the talk waiting room with her signature aegyo parade.
KBS2 'Immortal Songs' (directed by Park Hyung-geun, Kim Hyung-seok, Choi Seung-beom, hereafter 'Immortal Songs') is the undisputed top music variety program that has held the 1 p.m. same-time ratings lead for nearly 14 years. The episode airing on the 4th will be presented as the "Artist Lee Jung-hyun" edition.
Chuu is making her first solo appearance about five years after appearing in 2020 as part of the group 'LOONA'. Chuu cheerfully introduces herself, saying, "I have good memories, so I came back as a soloist, chu." When Chuu's greeting brightened the talk waiting room, MCs Kim Jun-hyun and Lee Chan-won could not hide their smiles.
Known as the "aegyo master" who created various challenges and memes, Chuu exudes charm with her so-called "aegyo parade." After 'bite-heart' and the 'frozen cat challenge,' Chuu reenacts the 'quitting job meme,' stirring up the talk waiting room. In response, Lee Chan-won said, "She's really cute. She's a doll herself. The camera directors can't keep their mouths shut," pointing at the production staff and provoking laughter. Not to be outdone, 'Kkapgwon' Jo Kwon steps in and instantly copies the three aegyo moves Chuu showed, leaving everyone impressed, according to reports.
Chuu, born in 1999, the same year as Lee Jung-hyun's debut, replied to the question "Do you remember seeing Lee Jung-hyun's stage?" by saying, "When I was in school, my friends told me about her. I kept singing 'Bakkwo,'" and added, "My nickname was Kkapchu," bringing smiles. Chuu hinted at transforming into a Barbie doll with Lee Jung-hyun's "Jullae," shyly confessing, "I want senior Lee Jung-hyun to tell me 'It was as lovely as candy falling.'" She then raised expectations for her performance, saying, "I will present a 'Jullae' that is both sweet and mischievous."
Meanwhile, the "Artist Lee Jung-hyun" edition features five distinctive acts — "irreplaceable performance queen" Stephanie, "top performance master" Jo Kwon, "husky voice" Kim Ki-tae, "human vitamin" Chuu, and "monster rookie idol" CLOSE YOUR EYES — each reinterpreting Lee Jung-hyun's signature songs in their own colors. In particular, Lee Jung-hyun is said to stage a special performance of "Wa" for the first time in 10 years, drawing focused attention to the upcoming broadcast of 'Immortal Songs.'
The "Artist Lee Jung-hyun" edition, packed with Lee Jung-hyun's special stage after 10 years and experimental performances by her juniors, will meet viewers on the 4th. 'Immortal Songs,' which produces legendary videos you want to watch again each time, airs every Saturday at 6:05 p.m. on KBS2.
