In Problem Child in House, Koo Bon-seung explained why he had not dated for 17 years and expressed a cautious stance.
On the 2nd episode of KBS2TV's Problem Child in House, Koo Bon-seung and Kim Sook met again.
The producers said, "We will clearly sort out the complicated relationships with men," and set up a three-way meeting, introduced Kim Sook's men(?), and immediately the newlywed Yoon Jung-soo and the potential beau Koo Bon-seung appeared. The would-be beau Koo Bon-seung introduced himself saying, "I am the man of Oct. 7," which caused uproarious laughter.
They especially mentioned the Oct. 7 marriage article about Kim Sook. Kim Sook and Koo Bon-seung appeared as first-season members of the dating show Pursuing Old Encounters, which premiered in January, drew a love line and became a final couple, receiving much viewer support. Then, in April on KBS2's Boss in the Mirror, when Koo Bon-seung appeared as a special MC, Park Myung-soo asked, "Will you get married in the fall?" and even picked the date, saying, "Get married on Oct. 7," and Kim Sook replied, "I will follow Koo Bon-seung oppa's opinion," which raised marriage rumors.
Koo Bon-seung said, "I was in Japan that day; an elder in my family called," and recounted the episode that fake news turned his household upside down. Koo Bon-seung said, "I heard it for the first time too; I hurriedly checked and found a wedding news article," showing a state of resignation.
The panel continued to push the atmosphere between the two. The two have matching fishing tastes. To the question, "Is there no day you think, what are those two?" Kim Sook said, "I don't know about marriage, but I think it would be fun to hang out with Koo Bon-seung oppa — fishing, not dating."
Koo Bon-seung, who is preparing YouTube content about fishing and golf, had previously appeared on Kim Sook's channel. When he said, "Kim Sook gifted me the camera I needed," Joo Woo-jae asked, "This sister was flirting — a total pro," questioning the truth of the camera gifting flirtation. Kim Sook said, "I gladly appeared to show my thanks; if he hadn't received it I would have taken the camera," and laughed, "But he sent a video message saying thank you, that was sweet." Joo Woo-jae again suspected, asking Kim Sook and Koo Bon-seung, "Isn't this dating?" then added, "You two seem like you are dating," casting a meaningful look.
Eventually Song Eun-i egged the mood on, saying, "I think it's a proposal; a video message is a confession," which caused laughter. When Kim Sook said, "Bon-seung oppa said he would send it if he caught a 'patterned cuttlefish,'" Song Eun-i said, "That's a proposal," and continued to stoke the atmosphere, drawing laughs.
When asked about his last relationship, Koo Bon-seung said, "About 17 to 18 years ago. It was a fling. I don't like flirting," showing his wall-like stance, and when asked if there was a reason he stopped in his mid- to late 30s, Koo Bon-seung said, "My will to date faded. I liked fishing and golf more," and added, "After your mid-30s, the weight of responsibility in the repetition of meeting and parting changes; meeting people becomes cautious and deliberate."
