In Problem Child in House, Gu Bon-seung revealed that the reason he appeared on the Pursuing Old Encounters program was Kim Sook.
On the 2nd broadcast of KBS2TV's Problem Child in House, Gu Bon-seung revealed behind-the-scenes stories of his appearance.
Gu Bon-seung appeared and in particular mentioned the article about marrying Kim Sook on Oct. 7. Gu Bon-seung said, "I heard it for the first time too; I hurriedly checked and saw a marriage announcement article," showing a state of enlightenment. But he also said that the elders in his family were all surprised.
When asked about his last relationship, Gu Bon-seung said, "17 to 18 years ago. It was a fling. I don't like flirting," showing a wall-like attitude. When asked if there was a reason he stopped in his mid-to-late 30s, he said, "My will to date faded. I like fishing and golf more," and added, "After mid-30s, the weight of responsibility for repeated meetings and partings changes. Meetings with people become cautious and deliberate."
Especially when Gu Bon-seung said, "If there had been a woman who led, it wouldn't have taken until 17 years," Kim Sook showed interest, and Gu Bon-seung said, "But even if she is proactive, if I don't like her it's over. I have to like her myself," which made everyone burst into laughter. When asked if his standards are high, Gu Bon-seung said, "Ideal type? If I used to look only at strengths, now I look at the whole person: independent and someone who handles their work well," and Kim Sook jokingly asked, "Is that me?" which drew laughter.
Above all, Gu Bon-seung said about why he appeared on Pursuing Old Encounters, "I avoided similar dating programs, but Pursuing Old Encounters has a good aim of naturally creating good matches," and "Kim Sook said she could appear, so I thought we could talk about fishing and it would be comfortable." Then Kim Sook exclaimed, "Did you appear because of me? What is this dude," exploding with excitement at the behind-the-scenes revelation, and Gu Bon-seung said, "Kim Sook is straightforward when working, but in private I saw a feminine side," and added, "Don't you all agree?" looking embarrassed.
Meanwhile, Kim Sook and Gu Bon-seung appeared as first-season members of the dating show Pursuing Old Encounters, which first aired in January, drew a love line and even became a final couple, receiving much viewer support. Then in April, when Gu Bon-seung appeared as a special MC on KBS2's The Boss Has Donkey Ears, Park Myung-soo asked, "Will you get married in the fall?" and even said, "Get married on Oct. 7," specifying the date, and Kim Sook replied, "I will follow (Gu Bon-seung)'s opinion," which raised marriage rumors.
