Actor Ju Jihoon won the best actor award at the Seoul International Drama Awards, adding a third trophy to The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call.
The 20th Seoul International Drama Awards 2025 was held at 5 p.m. on the 2nd (Thu) at KBS Hall, was livestreamed on the official YouTube channel, and will also be broadcast on SBS TV at 6 p.m. today (3rd). Ju Jihoon won the K-drama category best actor award that day for the Netflix series The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call.
Taking the stage as the winner, Ju Jihoon opened by saying, "I always work hard hoping viewers enjoy it in any way, so I thank the viewers who enjoyed it." He added, "I have always been nervous and only spoken from behind the scenes, but I want to express deep gratitude to the doctors at The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call who are passionately saving lives even at this hour." Ju Jihoon did not forget to express his gratitude to all the staff who worked on the project. Finally, he concluded, "It wasn't easy to blend genre pleasure, wit, reality and the sincere desire to save patients into one work, so I thank our director Lee Do-yoon, our captain, who quietly led all of that alone under adverse conditions."
Earlier this year, Ju Jihoon played genius surgeon Baek Gang-hyeok in The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, which became one of Netflix's biggest hits, creating an irreplaceable, distinctive character and earning the equation Ju Jihoon = Baek Gang-hyeok. By adding realistic details to a fantastical setting, Ju Jihoon fully embodied the character, driving viewer immersion and the show's popularity at the same time.
With this work, Ju Jihoon won the best actor award in the broadcast category at the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards and the best actor award at the 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards, and then added the best actor award at the 20th Seoul International Drama Awards, making 2025 his year. He is also actively continuing global activities through an Asia tour.
Ju Jihoon is currently filming the highly anticipated 2026 Disney+ series The Remarried Empress.
