'Gakjib couple' actor Shin Hyun-joon said he has been living as a "gakjib couple" for two years with his wife Kim Gyeong-mi, who is 12 years his junior.
On the episode of tvN STORY's "Gakjib couple" that aired on the 2nd, actor Shin Hyun-joon and his wife Kim Gyeong-mi revealed their daily life of living as a weekend couple for the sake of their three children's education.
Shin Hyun-joon recalled that when he saw his wife Kim Gyeong-mi holding a cello, he "fell in love at first sight," and actress Moon So-ri also agreed, saying it was "understandable to fall for her beauty." At the time, elite cellist Kim Gyeong-mi, who was studying in the United States, asked Shin Hyun-joon for an autograph, and Shin Hyun-joon, instead of giving an autograph, handed her his business card and began an active courtship.
Six days later, Kim Gyeong-mi contacted Shin Hyun-joon and they had a meal, and the two said "the conversation flowed well and their personalities matched." Kim Gyeong-mi returned to the United States, but she missed Shin Hyun-joon so much that after receiving his contact she boarded a plane back to Korea and continued their love.
They also revealed that the couple are currently living separately because of their three children's education. As the children attend school in Songdo, the wife and children live in Songdo during weekdays, and the whole family only gathers together in Seoul on weekends. The couple said it is not an easy life, but they are working together for their children's education.<
