Actor Ma Dong-seok and Lee Jin-wook face off within the universe of a global action series. Following Twelve, Ma Dong-seok's action performance is once again raising expectations.
According to OSEN reporting on the 2nd, Netflix is preparing in earnest to produce a new film, Extraction: Taigo, continuing the world of Extraction, and Ma Dong-seok and Lee Jin-wook have been confirmed to appear. In this work Ma Dong-seok appears as a mercenary character who undertakes a perilous mission to rescue a kidnapped comrade, and Lee Jin-wook appears as a character who squares off against him, foreshadowing a tense showdown.
At the recent KBS2 press conference for the weekend drama Twelve, Ma Dong-seok expressed confidence about the action scenes, saying he "leveraged the power of a tiger's forepaw and combined it with my boxing action." In fact, he played Taesan, the protagonist of Twelve, a hero story inspired by the 12 animal guardians of the East, showing weighty leadership and original action. The performance combining a leopard-print costume and powerful punching action has already received praise from people on set.
Given that, expectations are growing for what new style Ma Dong-seok, who has built an unrivaled presence in the action genre, will show within the Extraction universe. In particular, the chemistry with Lee Jin-wook, who has strengths in smooth charisma and sharp acting, is expected to be a powerful attraction in itself.
This project is jointly produced by Big Punch Pictures Co., Ltd., the production company Ma Dong-seok directly founded, B&C, and Nova Film Co., Ltd., with Lee Sang-yong, director of The Outlaws 2 and 3, directing. The original idea is by Ma Dong-seok, and the screenplay was completed by actor and writer Cha Woo-jin to raise its quality.
Having presented his own action interpretation in Twelve, what Ma Dong-seok will coordinate with Lee Jin-wook in the global action series Extraction: Taigo is driving fans' expectations to a peak. The production is scheduled to begin full-scale filming after the Chuseok holidays.<
