On "Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant," Park Tae-hwan's mother welcomed Park Se-ri, who is 12 years older, as a potential daughter-in-law.
On the 3rd, Park Tae-hwan and his mother appeared on KBS2TV's "Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant."
While Park Tae-hwan was nostalgically devouring his mother's dishes after a long time, his mother suddenly brought up a blind date, making everyone burst out laughing. It was a casual remark: "Someone says there's a good person. Do you want to meet them?"
Startled by his mother's blunt pitch, Park Tae-hwan's pupils dilated. His mother, with a serious expression, asked again, "I'm not saying this because of the show. I was told there's a really good young woman...," and watching Park Tae-hwan, who didn't know what to do, his close friend Kim Jae-joong empathized strongly, saying, "So this day has come for this family too," which drew laughter.
Park Tae-hwan laughed, saying, "We're still filming this, so don't say it's not related; don't tell her to stop — I'm so embarrassed my nose is running," and his mother said, "These days people are getting married late; suddenly there's a marriage boom," expressing her wish that her son meet a good match.
But when Park Tae-hwan did not react, his mother gave up, saying, "Ah, do as you wish," and joked, "If you pick too selectively, you might aim for a squid and end up with a jellyfish," which made people laugh. Park Tae-hwan added, "There will be a destined connection."
In an interview with the production team, Park Tae-hwan's mother revealed why she worries about her son's marriage.
When the production team said, "You have many close female acquaintances; for example, Park Se-ri...," Park Tae-hwan sprang up, saying, "Wait a minute! I'm going to call Se-ri nuna!" defending his close friend Park Se-ri, while his mother said, "She's very nice, pleasant and has a good personality," again turning the set into a sea of laughter. Park Tae-hwan tried to stop his mother's run-on remarks, saying, "What are you talking about? I can't do an interview with Mrs. Yoo," and Park Tae-hwan and Park Se-ri have a 12-year age difference.
Teasing her son half-jokingly and half-seriously, his mother prompted Park Tae-hwan to say, "We're the same Park family, what are you talking about; there are lines you shouldn't cross," and just as it seemed the interview would end, he left a meaningful remark: "I'm not against remaining unmarried, so don't give up hope."
