As actress Nicole Kidman (58) and singer Keith Urban (57) face the breakdown of their 19-year marriage, 25-year-old musician Maggie Baugh, who plays guitar in his band, is drawing public attention, Page Six reported on the 2nd (local time).
According to the report, recently Keith Urban sang the song "The Fighter," which he wrote about the early days with his wife, on stage and gestured toward Baugh while singing the original lyric "I was born to love you," sparking controversy. At another performance, he was seen changing the lyric "When they're tryna get to you, baby, I'll be the fighter" to "Maggie, I'll be your guitar player." Baugh also shared that clip on social media and wrote, "Did he just say that?" which amplified fans' suspicions.
Born in 1999, Baugh is 32 years younger than Keith Urban and is closer in age to Kidman and Urban's two daughters (17 and 14). She is from Florida, began playing the violin at age 6 and even performed at Carnegie Hall, giving her a classical background. She began singing at 12 and switched to country music in middle school.
She said, "No one in my family makes music. My father is a microbiologist, my mother is a homemaker and runs a dog training facility," adding, "It's surprising that I'm the only one who does music."
Baugh began composing while coming and going to Nashville from age 13 and released her first album that same year. She moved to Nashville full time at 18 and built performing experience traveling between Florida and Virginia. She confessed that she was bullied during school and said she healed her wounds through music, adding, "Music saved me."
On stage she plays various instruments including guitar and violin, and she appeared in Trace Adkins' 2021 music video "Where the Country Girls At," drawing attention.
Since joining Keith Urban's touring band in 2024, Baugh's musical journey has reached a new turning point. Off stage she describes herself as an "ordinary 20-something" who enjoys reading, vintage shopping and time with friends. Her TikTok series "Finish the Lick," which she started in 2022, became very popular and helped her gain 400,000 followers, showing her active engagement with younger audiences.
After Kidman and Urban announced their divorce, specific facts about the relationship with Maggie Baugh have not been confirmed, but the suggestive stage moments and social media activity surrounding the performances have intensified suspicions.
