"The queen of taste Kim Nam-joo" Kim Nam-joo recalled her days as a Namdaemun model.
During the recent filming of episode 19 of the SBS Life entertainment program "The queen of taste Kim Nam-joo," Kim Nam-joo went on a Namdaemun tour in Seoul and said, "It's been a while since I came to Namdaemun, it brings back memories. I started my career as a Namdaemun clothing model," she began.
Kim Nam-joo recalled, "When you go into Namdaemun, there are clothing shops, and they used to put up photos taken of models in front of the shops," and added, "Merchants would see a model and pick them. One merchant chose me as soon as he saw me and (we) took the (photo)."
She continued, "(After the shoot) I had to take the train and get off at Pyeongtaek, so while waiting for the train, eating a hamburger meant nothing in the world could be better. I led a busy life, but I was happy," and added, "My mother was really happy, and I also worked very hard. When I think of Namdaemun, those things come to mind. If I go to my mother's house, there might be photos of catalogs we shot for Namdaemun market. Mothers keep those things," she said with a bright smile.
Episode 19, which also features Kim Nam-joo taking a flower-arranging class in addition to the Namdaemun tour, will air on Oct. 2 (Thu) at 8:40 p.m., and the same-day content of the same name will be released on Kim Nam-joo's YouTube channel at 11:45 a.m. that day.
