Broadcaster Kim Na-young announced her marriage to singer and painter Micaio after four years of public dating and candidly revealed why she had delayed the decision for so long and what ultimately led her to decide to marry.
Kim Na-young married in 2015 but divorced in 2019 and actively worked while raising her two sons alone. Kim Na-young, who began publicly dating Micaio in 2021, openly showed affection for each other through YouTube and social media and shared daily life with her two sons.
After four years of dating, the two people bore the fruit of marriage and became a true family. On the 1st, Kim Na-young announced the wedding news on her YouTube channel, saying, "I have decided to become family with Micaio, who stayed by my side for the past four years with great love and trust." She added, "It has been quite a long time since I was proposed to, but I delayed the decision because I lacked courage and fear overwhelmed me," she confessed.
Still, the reason she chose marriage was Micaio's unwavering devotion. Kim Na-young said, "The trust, love and devotion that Micaio showed to me and my children over a considerable period moved my heart," and "and I also found the courage because I thought that yesterday's events should not block who I am today."
Kim Na-young also released a video showing the proposal she received in January 2023. In the video, Kim Na-young is shown crying as she reads Micaio's letter asking her to marry him.
The conversations she had with her children ahead of the wedding were also striking. Kim Na-young told her two sons, Shin-woo and Lee-jun, "We've been practicing becoming family with uncle. I thought that if we really become a family, we could live more happily," to announce the marriage news. The children responded, "Good," and congratulated their mother's decision with honest reactions like "I'm a little nervous too. It's surprising to me."
Kim Na-young said, "As you grow older by a year, you realize how much courage and how much support one person needs to live," and pledged, "With the countless supports I have received, I will live with all my might. And I will spread that love more broadly."
The couple's wedding is scheduled to be held on a small scale with only family and relatives in attendance. Kim Na-young said, "The ceremony will be held quietly in a very small place, so we could not inform many people. I would appreciate your generous understanding. I will also do my best to build a good family."
