"Nice to Not Meet You" Lee Jung-jae and Lim Ji-yeon have hinted at resetting their signature characters for a new life.
The new tvN Mon-Tue drama "Nice to Not Meet You," scripted by Jung Yeo-rang, directed by Kim Ga-ram, and planned and produced by Studio Dragon, Studio N, and Artist Company, which is scheduled to premiere on Nov. 3, released on the 2nd a character teaser video capturing the cheerful charms of "perpetual Kang Pil-goo" Im Hyun-joon (Lee Jung-jae) and "hot-blooded reporter" Wi Jeong-shin (Lim Ji-yeon).
"Nice to Not Meet You" is a drama about a national actor who has lost his original intent and an entertainment reporter obsessed with realizing justice engaging in diss battles, fact bombardments and breaking down prejudice. In a spectacular entertainment industry where one bizarre incident after another breaks out almost daily, the enemy chemistry between a top star and an entertainment reporter tangled by an annoying fate delivers empathy and thrills amid unexpected laughs. Director Kim Ga-ram, who has worked across genres on "Good Partner" and "Nevertheless," and writer Jung Yeo-rang, who caused a sensation with "Dr. Cha Jeong-sook," have joined forces to guarantee uniquely different entertainment. Attention is especially focused on the synergy that trusted actors such as Lee Jung-jae, Lim Ji-yeon, Kim Ji-hoon and Seo Ji-hye will create.
Among them, the released character teaser video raises expectations with Lee Jung-jae and Lim Ji-yeon's perfectly matched character play. First, Im Hyun-joon, who is playing "Kang Pil-goo" with an intense gaze that stands out even in the rain, captures attention. "Kang Pil-goo the good detective" was the work that brought Im Hyun-joon numerous trophies and nationwide popularity. But Im Hyun-joon says, "Kill me in episode 1! I've done Kang Pil-goo for seven years," and he is desperately struggling to break away from Kang Pil-goo. Whether Im Hyun-joon's journey to escape the title of the nation's detective specialist actor will succeed is attracting close attention.
The daily life of "hot-blooded political reporter" Wi Jeong-shin is intense. His passion, which spares no means for reporting, suggests the tough, battle-hardened character of someone who has been through the mill. But the routine of Wi Jeong-shin, who was considered the political bureau's ace, is upended when he says, "Let's just be in the entertainment desk for one year," and a storm hits. Wi Jeong-shin's adaptation to the entertainment desk begins with chaos, as he doesn't know the names of popular K-pop idols or the titles of national dramas. Upon joining the entertainment desk, Wi Jeong-shin also meets an extraordinary relationship with national actor Im Hyun-joon. Whenever they meet they growl at each other, and at one point he even delivers a surprise headbutt in a hospital, further raising expectations for the two's enemy chemistry.
Meanwhile, the new tvN Mon-Tue drama "Nice to Not Meet You" will premiere on Nov. 3 at 8:50 p.m.
