Actor Im Se-mi mourned the world-renowned animal welfare activist Dr. Jane Goodall.
On the 1st (local time), according to U.S. outlet NBC and others, the Jane Goodall Institute issued a statement saying Dr. Goodall passed away that morning.
The cause was natural causes, and at the time of her death Dr. Goodall was in California for a speaking tour in the United States. In the statement the institute mourned, saying, "As a zoologist, Dr. Goodall's discoveries revolutionized the scientific community. She was a tireless advocate for conservation and restoration of nature."
Dr. Goodall was famous for her study of wild chimpanzees at Gombe National Park in Tanzania in 1960 when she was 26. Through her research she proved that primates show behaviors similar to humans in communication, personality development, and tool making and use.
While many people expressed their condolences, Im Se-mi also joined from within Korea's entertainment industry. Im Se-mi posted a photo of Dr. Goodall and expressed deep condolences with a praying emoji.
