The popular Naver webtoon "Hero Killer" will be produced as an animation.
On the 1st, webtoon IP specialist production company Jaedam Media said it has signed an animation adaptation agreement for the webtoon "Hero Killer" (story: Kkulbeol / art: Beolkkul) with ADN (Animation Digital Network), a European animation studio and platform.
The animation agreement between Jaedam Media and France's ADN raises expectations as an example of K-webtoons expanding into animation in the global market.
"Hero Killer" is one of Jaedam Media's representative original IPs. The story follows protagonist Lee Hwa, who vows revenge after her sister was killed by a hero, becomes the hero killer and punishes corrupt heroes in this action fantasy. It is being serialized with popularity as a Friday series on Naver Webtoon and is being serviced on Line Webtoon in eight countries including North America, Japan, France and Thailand. The webtoon's global success has led to this global animation production contract with ADN.
ADN, which is in charge of producing the animation, has led production on numerous animations as a studio and operates as a platform company that distributes animation content in France and major European countries together with specialized animation studios. ADN has collaborated primarily on Japanese animation, and through "Hero Killer" it aims to show the potential for K-webtoon IP expansion. Jaedam Media has planned and produced content based on webtoons and novels and has actively pushed OSMU (One Source Multi Use) projects such as film and animation adaptations. This contract with ADN is a symbolic case of Jaedam Media's original IP expanding multifacetedly through a global platform.
The contract was officially commemorated at the SPP International Content Market 2025, and Jaedam Media CEO Hwang Nam-yong said ADN's collaboration is an example of K-webtoons proving their competitiveness in the global market as animation and that the company will continue to expand K-webtoons' global influence through collaborations with various platforms and studios.

Works produced by Jaedam Media, such as the webtoons "I Got Pregnant," "Even the Lotto First-Place Winner Goes to Work," and "Tough Guy," are also attracting much attention as they are scheduled to be broadcast as dramas next year.
