'Mari and the unusual dads,' a new-concept family story that will turn weekday nights upside down, has released a full preview video.
The new KBS 1TV daily drama set to premiere in October, Mari and the unusual dads (directed by Seo Yong-soo / written by Kim Hong-joo / produced by LI Entertainment, Monster Union) is a drama about Mari's chaotic search for her father! The birth of an unusual family that is truer than blood and more persistent than sperm.
The full preview video released today (1st) depicts the distinctive personalities of each character, led by Ha Seung-ri, who is at the center of the "parentage scandal."
In the video, Kang Mari (played by Ha Seung-ri) is flustered after learning the unbelievable fact that there are three candidates for father after 20 years. Sitting in front of Mari as interviewers, Lee Poong-joo (played by Ryu Jin) and Jin Ki-sik (played by Gong Jung-hwan) draw attention as they look at her with an awkward glance and a pleased smile, respectively.
Meanwhile, Kang Min-bo (played by Hwang Dong-joo) intensifies the confusion by looking at Mari and dropping the ominous line, "Mari is the child of all of us." Then a sharp argument breaks out between Min-bo and his ex-wife Ju Si-ra (played by Park Eun-hye), injecting tension into the battle for Mari that will unfold in the drama. Si-ra says, "It's disgusting to hear Mari's name from your mouth," and Min-bo fires back, "Are you upright toward Mari?" making readers curious about the hidden story between them.
Also, leaving Mari enjoying a pleasant time with Lee Kang-se (played by Hyun-woo), the unseen psychological battle between Poong-joo and Min-bo continues, focusing attention on whether their relationship is a bad fate or a bond.
On the other hand, scenes of Mari and Si-ra facing a crisis are also depicted. In response to Mari's cautious question, "Aren't you curious why and how I found my father?", Si-ra puts it bluntly, "Listen carefully, Kang Mari, from today there is no father," nailing it down.
