The original marathon variety show MBN Run to Live has confirmed season 2 and will return to viewers' living rooms in November.
Run to Live, which first aired in April and sparked a marathon craze nationwide, will broadcast the season 2 premiere on Nov. 16. If season 1 captured novice runners' marathon challenges and growth stories, season 2, fittingly subtitled "the ultimate running crew showdown," will portray the "ultimate crew battle," an extreme race of passionate runners in which stars who are serious about running participate as "players" in various competitions and compete against formidable crews.
Sean, who was a standout in season 1, along with Lee Young-pyo, Yang Se-hyung and Go Han-min, have been cast for season 2 to continue the Run to Live universe. Those who in season 1 served as Director General, deputy director general, broadcast booth and coaches leading the "novice runners" will in season 2 participate fully as "players," demonstrating real skill and competitive drive. In particular, Sean, the "philanthropy angel" and "marathon evangelist," is expected to play a leading role again as the spiritual pillar and representative player of the "ultimate running crew," and Lee Young-pyo, a former national soccer player who has continued as a marathoner since retirement, is determined to show his true ability in season 2.
Comedian-turned-running enthusiast Yang Se-hyung, known in the entertainment industry as a "running lover," said he regrets only being in the broadcast booth in season 1 and aspires in season 2 to run as a competitor and show a surprising charm by being more earnest about marathons than anyone else. With actor Go Han-min, one of the entertainment world's top runners, joining, the "ultimate running crew" has a green light on its goal of winning marathon competitions. In addition, season 2 has raised expectations by announcing the addition of an unprecedented lineup that exceeds predictions.
The production team said, "The viewers' passionate love for season 1 expanded into a running craze and we return in November with a larger scale for season 2. Seeing Sean, Lee Young-pyo, Yang Se-hyung and Go Han-min — the pillars of season 1 — running as full players will not only bring fresh fun but also lead viewers into the real world of running," and added, "Above all, because many celebrity runners who love running will participate in season 2 to show off their skills, please look forward to their performances."
Meanwhile, the Run to Live production team will air Run to Live in Sydney, which chronicles the Run to Live crew's challenge at the Sydney Marathon, one of the World Marathon Majors and the winner's special prize from season 1, over two weeks on Nov. 2 and Nov. 9. After that, Run to Live will return to viewers' living rooms with the season 2 premiere on Nov. 16.
