The recent condition of singer Jin Miryeong, who saw off her 'common-law ex-husband' the late Jeon Yu-seong, was spotted.
On the 1st, trot singer Papa Geumpa (Lee Hyo-nam) uploaded a photo to her social account saying "a sudden meet-up before Chuseok."
The released photo captured Papa Geumpa enjoying a company gathering. Beside her sat comedian Bae Yeon-jeong, singer Kim Hye-yeon and Jin Miryeong, drawing attention.
The four people linked arms affectionately or struck V poses while wearing bright smiles. Jin Miryeong also responded to the photo by smiling brightly, sharing upbeat news of her condition.
Jin Miryeong sent a condolence wreath to the late Jeon Yu-seong's wake to mourn him. The late Jeon Yu-seong died around 9:05 p.m. on the 25th of last month while hospitalized as his pulmonary fibrosis symptoms worsened. He was 76.
As a pioneer who led South Korea's comedy scene, many younger comedians expressed deep sorrow at the news of the late Jeon Yu-seong. Meanwhile, Jin Miryeong, who was staying abroad at the time to fulfill scheduled commitments, could not return immediately and joined the mourning by sending a condolence wreath.
Jin Miryeong married the late Jeon Yu-seong, who was remarried at the time, in 1993. The two continued their marriage as a common-law relationship without registering their marriage, but they separated in 2011 after about 20 years.
Later, Jin Miryeong appeared on a variety show and said, "I didn't want to register our marriage. The reason was I didn't want to be under that. I didn't want to have children. I was too busy taking care of myself," adding, "There was one child with the late Jeon Yu-seong. So I said I wouldn't have a child and I wouldn't register the marriage. Jeon Yu-seong accepted that. In any case, he is a good person. We separated because our personalities didn't quite match."
