Actor Lee Jun-ho showed ambition for the success of Typhoon Family.
On the 1st at The Link Seoul, Tribute Portfolio Hotel in Guro-gu, Seoul, a press conference was held for tvN's new Saturday-Sunday drama Typhoon Family. Director Lee Na-jung and actors Lee Jun-ho and Kim Min-ha attended the event.
tvN's new Saturday-Sunday drama Typhoon Family (directed by Lee Na-jung and Kim Dong-hwi, written by Jang Hyun, planned by Studio Dragon, produced by Imaginus·Studio PIC·TriStudio) tells the story of the struggles and growth of rookie company man Kang Tae-poong, who overnight became the president of a trading company in 1997 IMF with no employees, no money and nothing to sell.
Lee Jun-ho, who plays Kang Tae-poong, a novice who became the president of a trading company overnight, recalled the reason he chose the project: "The big point was that it tells a warm yet realistic story. It is soft, bright, hopeful and funny, but at the same time it is poignant and sad. I thought it was a script with diverse charms. That made me want to participate in this project more."
He continued, "Personally, as I launched a company, started filming Typhoon Family and had all my schedules happen at the same time, strangely I felt there were many parts where I could focus on and follow the character Kang Tae-poong. While watching episode 1, I felt many similarities between what happened to me this year and Tae-poong, so I felt an inexplicable sense of oneness. That made me feel attached to him."
In particular, Typhoon Family was decided to air as the successor to the popular Bon Appetit, Your Majesty. Also, Lee Jun-ho worked with Im Yoon-ah on King the Land. Regarding this, Lee Jun-ho said frankly, "The actors who filmed King the Land have a group chat. We exchanged congratulatory messages there. Bon Appetit, Your Majesty was so globally successful that viewers will likely have expectations for the next successor work."
He added, "In a way, I expect to inherit good energy. Our big goal is to complete our own story with a high level of quality. For now, we are focusing well on filming," while also saying, "As always. As humans, of course we have ambition. It seems that good works and timing have always come together to create those situations (success). But this time we have good people and a good story. I want to be ambitious this time as well."
