YouTuber Tzuyang surprised everyone by confessing she is battling retinitis pigmentosa, a condition that carries a risk of blindness.
On the 29th, a video titled "Ordering xx won worth of food at a PC cafe with 135 menu items" was uploaded to Tzuyang's YouTube channel.
In the video, Tzuyang continued her usual PC cafe mukbang. Tzuyang, who immersed herself in the game with carp-level skill. Suddenly, she clarified a misunderstanding after a staff member said, "So didn't your eyesight get worse because of that?" by saying, "My eyesight has been like this since elementary school."
In particular, Tzuyang said, "This isn't because of using the computer; it's because I have an incurable eye disease," and surprised viewers by confessing, "People ask why I don't get LASIK or LASEK and say it's very convenient, but I can't. I have retinitis pigmentosa."
She added, "I could become blind in the future," causing concern. Retinitis pigmentosa is an inherited disease in which pigment accumulates in the retina and retinal function is lost, and severe damage can lead to blindness.
Previously, Tzuyang faced criticism from some viewers on the MBC program Omniscient Interfering View, which aired last month, after her glasses slid down to the tip of her nose because of the weight of the lenses.
In response, Tzuyang said, "It's really unfair. Even I wondered while watching why my glasses slid down so far," and explained, "It wasn't intentional; it's my usual look. My eyesight is so poor that the lenses are heavy, so they slide down," drawing attention.
