Actress Suzy shared her thoughts after winning best actress for Anna.
On the 30th, the YouTube channel "Jo Hyun-ah's ordinary Thursday night" released a video titled "My friend who has become a little stronger and a rookie YouTuber Part.2."
Jo Hyun-ah said, "People think Suzy only lives happily and comfortably. Even when she hears that, Suzy does not make excuses." Suzy said, "I dislike making excuses and basically think 'everyone must be having a hard time.' So I don't think I'm special. Since it's a job where you have to shine at moments, I also think it's good to know how to take that for granted, but I'm trying to be more objective. I'm trying to be strict with myself, so that feels comfortable."
Jo Hyun-ah said, "From afar, Suzy really doesn't enjoy herself. Sometimes she thinks, 'I should tell her this,' but she doesn't." In response, Suzy showed composure, saying, "I dislike being dramatic. Even if I feel it's hard, I think I have to handle it alone."
Jo Hyun-ah recalled when Suzy popularized balletcore and remembered when Suzy was exercising. Jo Hyun-ah said, "In the past, Suzy gained weight, but when she exercised she didn't. When she first said she was going to start exercising, I thought she was being cocky. And when she said she was doing tennis and ballet, I felt a little annoyed." In response, Suzy revealed, "When Jo Hyun-ah was actively exercising, she only wore workout clothes and came to my house and did handstands," drawing laughter.
Suzy also promoted Genie, Make A Wish. Meanwhile, Jo Hyun-ah said responses ranged from the poster looking like a cartoon to it being absurd, and laughed, "I said it was good that Suzy was in writer Kim Eun-sook's work. Later, when I saw the poster I said it looked like a princess and a prince, but people had a lot to say. So the viral marketing seems to have worked well." Suzy said, "I think there's a reason for everything. The worldview is unique. Fantasy and reality are mixed. You can watch it lightly but still think about it. It's a work that will remain in life. I learned a lot. I hope it does well."
Jo Hyun-ah mentioned that Suzy won best actress for Anna at the 2nd Blue Dragon Series Awards, the Asia Contents Awards, and the Seoul Drama Awards. Jo Hyun-ah said, "Among people I know, Suzy is the first who started as an idol and won best actress," and added, "I remember she had a really hard time choosing Anna, and the moment she won the award for that, the feeling was indescribable."
Suzy said, "I couldn't be purely happy either, but I met someone who was wholly happy for me," and added, "Even when I won awards, there was always an unease as if it wasn't truly mine, but rather than being happy about winning, I was glad I did this work. I praised myself for enduring a lot. And I'm thankful and refreshed that Jo Hyun-ah was happier than me and celebrated me wholeheartedly."
