On the 29th episode of Channel A's Detectives' Trade Secrets, in the "Detective 24 Hours" segment, a client's story who flew in from the United States was introduced, saying "I want to know my son's true feelings after he suddenly went to heaven." The client's son, who had been a school teacher, was injured while protecting students during an on-campus shooting caused by a parent, and left the classroom. Just a few months later he was also robbed at gunpoint and began suffering from unexplained migraines. The severe pain made economic activity and even daily life impossible, and he eventually had no choice but to divorce. An autopsy found his death was caused by unexpected effects from multiple medications he had taken to relieve physical and mental pain.
At the client's request to learn more about the son's situation while alive, forensic work was done on his phone and laptop. Inside were records of the client's son's endless pain, numerous job-search attempts, and the efforts he made even to change his career to protect his mother who was on the verge of divorce. In particular, from Nov. 2024 he had prepared for his death by drafting an advance medical directive expressing that "I do not want life-prolonging treatment." And before he died, he left a final message saying, "I am ready to return home. I have finally arrived at my destination, so I am at peace." The client broke down, saying, "Thank you for being born as my son. I hope you can rest in peace now."
In the following "case notebook," a woman who began her first romance at 28 and escaped lifelong singlehood came to the detective team, saying, "I think my boyfriend is cheating." The client had received many advances because of her attractive appearance and success at work, but she often put up walls against real-life men because she did not feel attraction. Then she met the ideal man she had dreamed of at a running club and started a fateful first relationship. But the sweet time was short-lived; from the second month of the relationship the boyfriend began to change as if he were a different person. The client suspected her boyfriend of infidelity, but the truth revealed by the detectives was beyond imagination.
It turned out the boyfriend was actually an identical twin, and the two had been secretly swapping girlfriends and sharing them. It was revealed that from their first meeting to travel, first kiss and first night together, the twins took turns deceiving the client. Ultimately, the twin brothers paid the price for violating sexual self-determination and were also forced to resign from their jobs. Defconn said, "Wow... this is crazy. Does this kind of thing really happen in the world?" in anger, and EXO's Chen, who joined as a guest detective for the day, said he was "so angry and my head is heavy," unable to hide his shock.
