Comedian Kim Hak-rae mentioned his last conversation with the late Jeon Yu-seong, creating a heavy atmosphere. On the 30th, the KBS 1TV program Morning Yard featured creator and writer Kim Do-yoon, who runs the YouTube channel "Kim Writer TV," as a guest. Kim Hak-rae, who appeared that day, opened his remarks by saying, "We, too, the day before yesterday, sent senior comedian Jeon Yu-seong, who can be called the father of comedians, to heaven."
He continued, "In our last conversation he said to me, 'Brother, there's not much difference. We'll be going soon, too,' and he replied, 'Yes, let's meet there,' and left." He added, "I am grateful that the whole nation mourned."
Meanwhile, Jeon Yu-seong died at age 76 on the evening of the 25th at 9:05 p.m. at Jeonbuk National University Hospital after symptoms of respiratory failure worsened. Korea Comedians Association Chairman Kim Hak-rae recalled his hospital visit, saying, "Even while relying on an oxygen respirator, his mind was clear. Even then we exchanged jokes, and he left the words, 'I'll go ahead, so let's meet soon.'" He added, "The deceased refused prolonged life-sustaining treatment himself and instructed that his funeral be a 'comedian's funeral,'" conveying the calm demeanor of his mentor who had orderly prepared for the end of life.
