Actresses Park Eun-hye, Park Hyun-jung and Cho Hyang-gi are set to bring a fresh take on the bittersweet friendship of three high school classmates to viewers' living rooms.
KBS 1TV's new daily drama Mari and the Unusual Dads, directed by Seo Yong-soo, written by Kim Hong-joo and produced by LI Entertainment and Monster Union, which is slated to premiere in October, depicts Mari's chaotic search for her father and the birth of an unusual family whose bonds are stronger than blood and more persistent than sperm.
Centered on Kang Mari (played by Ha Seung-ri), the stories of three fathers — Lee Poong-ju (played by Ryu Jin), Kang Min-bo (played by Hwang Dong-joo) and Jin Ki-sik (played by Gong Jung-hwan) — are generating anticipation, while the relationships among the three high school classmates who will heighten the drama's tension — Ju Si-ra (played by Park Eun-hye), Moon Sook-hee (played by Park Hyun-jung) and Yoon Eon-kyung (played by Cho Hyang-gi) — are also drawing attention.

A tense love triangle forms between Sook-hee, who has long harbored a crush on Poong-ju since their study abroad days, and Si-ra, who becomes interested in Poong-ju, and in the process a huge secret is uncovered.

Si-ra's other friend is her maternal aunt's daughter Yoon Eon-kyung. But Eon-kyung often growls whenever she sees Si-ra, so it is doubtful they are true friends. Then Eon-kyung learns an enormous truth related to Mari's birth and begins to use it to bully Si-ra. However, an event that could reverse Eon-kyung and Si-ra's relationship soon occurs, which will further heighten the story's immersion.
