The 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards has confirmed it will be held on Nov. 19 (Wed), and submissions for the "Chungjungone short film award" will open on Sep. 30 (Tue).
The 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards, Korea's premier film festival, will be held on Nov. 19 (Wed) at KBS Hall in Yeouido. Launched in 1963 to promote the development of the domestic film industry, the Blue Dragon Film Awards has established itself as the most prestigious film award through a fair and transparent judging process. This year, too, it will offer a celebratory evening that brings together the leading figures who have brightened the Korean film industry and film fans to enjoy together.
Through the "Chungjungone short film award," the Blue Dragon Film Awards has consistently discovered next-generation debut directors with fresh material, original ideas and potential. This year as well, it awaits short narrative films completed with a distinctive perspective. Eligible entrants are any person with Korean nationality or foreign nationals residing in Korea (including international students), and entries must be short narrative films of up to 40 minutes completed after Oct. 14, 2024 (Mon).
Submissions will be accepted online from Sep. 30 (Tue) to Oct. 12 (Sun) at midnight, 2025, and finalists selected after preliminary screening will have the final winner chosen through fair and rigorous judging by a panel composed of film professionals. The final winner will be announced at the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards ceremony on Nov. 19 (Wed). Detailed information about the contest can be found on the Blue Dragon Film Awards official website.
