Webtoon artist and broadcaster Kian84 became severely poisoned by plant sap while helping Park Na-rae clean out her grandparents' house.
Kian84 released a video titled "Kian84 filial piety trip" on his YouTube channel "Insaeng84" on the 30th.
In the video, Kian84 shared a two-night, three-day cruise trip he took with his mother. This trip was a special filial piety trip arranged to comfort his mother, who was grieving after sending off a companion dog they had been with for the past 12 years.
They began the trip at Busan Port International Passenger Terminal, and his mother said, "I was so excited I couldn't sleep last night," showing her excitement. Kian84, boarding the ultra-luxurious passenger ship that was more than 12 decks high, said proudly, "I think this is the best choice I've made this year." His mother also could not hide her joy, saying, "Many will regard traveling with their son as a dream."
Especially in the cabin, Kian84 drew attention with a severe case of plant sap poisoning. Kian84 said, "I recently cut grass and got a lot of plant sap poisoning, but my mother applied medicine for me," and said he was healed by his mother's warm hands. Earlier, Kian84 had helped clear out Park Na-rae's grandparents' house and removed weeds, and it appears the plant sap poisoning developed at that time.
Time on the cruise was filled with special events. While dining at a retro-style buffet with a 1990s vibe, chefs suddenly came out of the kitchen and performed a surprise 'Macarena' dance. During the subsequent Latin dance performance, at a dancer's invitation his mother went up on stage and danced with a strange young man from South America, adding to the trip's excitement. Kian84 said with a pleased smile, "My mother has been single for quite a while, but seeing her dance like that looked really good."
The next day, the cruise arrived in Nagasaki, Japan. Without a clear plan, the mother and son got off in the city and began an impromptu journey by looking at a map at the tourist information center. They rode the tram through the city and visited Chinatown to try the original version of Nagasaki's famous jjambbong. Kian84 compared it to Korean jjambbong, saying, "The noodles are like electric wires," but his mother happily finished her meal, saying, "It's delicious." They also visited sites that served as the setting for the opera "Madama Butterfly," experiencing the city's history and culture.
Kian84 shared heartfelt conversations with his mother and formed a sense of empathy. He comforted her over the loss of their companion dog and reflected on taking his mother on a trip for the first time in his 42 years of life. Kian84 said, "I was proud to see my mother enjoying herself," and added, "I feel like this was the best trip of all."
