TME Group and Bambunetwork are gearing up to co-produce short-form drama.
Total Media Entertainment Group TME Group (TME Group) and short-form content specialist Bambunetwork announced on the 30th that they have joined forces to begin full-scale joint production of original short-form drama. Through this collaboration, the two companies plan to develop original IP reflecting global viewer tastes and accelerate the expansion of their global content business aimed at OTT and digital platforms.
This collaboration is a strategic partnership that combines the core competencies of both companies in the rapidly growing global short-form drama market. TME Group's proven drama production capabilities, demonstrated by globally talked-about Our Unwritten Seoul and Confidence Man KR, combined with Bambunetwork's short-form expertise, are expected to create new synergies.
This joint production project will implement immersive short-form narratives preferred by global viewers based on the two companies' original story development capabilities. And through this, they plan to put the OSMU (One Source Multi-Use) strategy into full swing.
TME Group CEO Ahn Seok-jun said TME Group has continued various efforts to break down boundaries of genre and format to leap forward as a comprehensive entertainment company leading the global content market, and that this collaboration with Bambunetwork will expand genres through the trendy format of short-form and provide global viewers with new experiences.
Bambunetwork CEO Jeong Da-bin said Bambunetwork has established itself as a leading Korean short-form drama studio recognized in the global market, and that through this collaboration with TME Group they will further solidify the competitiveness of Korean short-form IP and offer global viewers from Asia to North America and Europe a new level of immersive experience.
The short-form content produced through this collaboration is expected to be supplied beyond Asia to the North American and European markets, and the two companies plan to deepen their cooperation by expanding joint planning and joint investment structures in the future to jointly hold IP and diversify revenue structures.
In particular, by applying the accumulated content production know-how and worldbuilding from joint production to the trendy format of short-form, it is expected to serve as an opportunity to create new revenue models and global distribution opportunities.<
