BTS Jin added another 500 million-stream song on Spotify.
According to Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform, Jin's title track from his second solo album released last May, "Echo," "Don't Say You Love Me," exceeded 500 million cumulative streams (chart dated Sept. 26). With this, Jin now has a second 500 million-stream song following his solo single "The Astronaut."
"Don't Say You Love Me" continues to enjoy strong popularity on global charts. In Spotify's "Weekly Top Songs Global" released on the 26th (reporting period: Sept. 19–25), it rose two spots from the previous week to No. 4. On the latest Billboard charts (dated Sept. 27), it ranked No. 29 on "Global (excl. U.S.)" and No. 51 on the "Global 200," marking 18 consecutive weeks on the charts.
Earlier, the song entered the U.S. Billboard main song chart, the "Hot 100," at No. 90 upon release, becoming Jin's third solo "Hot 100" song. The album containing the song, "Echo," reached No. 3 on Billboard's main album chart, the "Billboard 200," setting his personal best chart position.
"Don't Say You Love Me" sings of the irony of lovers who, even as their relationship is falling apart, cannot easily let each other go because of love. The restrained arrangement and cool, emotional melody combine with Jin's calm yet delicate voice to deepen the song's resonance.
