Broadcaster Kangnam expressed gratitude to his wife, Lee Sang-hwa.
On the 27th, the MBC program Omniscient Interfering View aired with actress Park Joon Myun and Kangnam appearing. That day, while Lee Sang-hwa briefly stepped away, Kangnam took out ramen and ham to enjoy a "cheating day," revealing his honest feelings.
Kangnam confessed about his past health, saying, "I had severe fatty liver. Among entertainers it was the worst. I drank a lot. On top of that, I also have a condition called Gilbert's syndrome."
He continued, "When I had a health checkup, the doctor spoke directly to Sang-hwa and I was shocked. I even cried then. But now my fatty liver has cleared up," saying he regained his health thanks to Lee Sang-hwa's care and dedication.
Kangnam also mentioned his father's illness. He said, "My father was treated for liver cancer in Japan, and when I wasn't there Sang-hwa went alone to care for him," adding, "His recovery was faster than expected and now he can even walk. I'm truly grateful," expressing deep thanks to his wife.
Earlier, Kangnam drew attention by losing weight from 87kg to 74kg through dieting. At the time he noted the changes, saying, "The home became more harmonious," and, "Lee Sang-hwa doesn't nag and doesn't check what I eat."
After losing 13kg last year he underwent a health checkup, and the results showed Kangnam had no overall health issues. A specialist said, "The liver color is similar compared with the kidney. There's almost no fatty liver. The thyroid is clean. The stomach is clean," adding, "By losing weight this time the fatty liver has improved dramatically."
