BABYMONSTER added its third music video to surpass 300 million views on YouTube as the group prepares to make a comeback on Oct. 10.
On the 28th, YG Entertainment said the music video for the title track of BABYMONSTER's first full-length album, "DRIP," surpassed 300 million views on YouTube at around 2:58 a.m. that day. It has been about 331 days since it was released at 1 p.m. on Nov. 1 last year.
The music video immediately shot to No. 1 as the most-viewed video within 24 hours after its release, remained on the global YouTube daily chart for 19 consecutive days, and surpassed 100 million views in 21 days. The song also gained strong popularity, entering the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. at No. 16 and the Billboard Global 200 at No. 30, marking its highest rankings to date.
With this, BABYMONSTER now has three videos with 300 million views. Previously, the music video for the mini album title track "SHEESH," which set the record for the fastest debut song by a K-pop girl group, and the pre-debut song "BATTER UP" had achieved the same view count.
BABYMONSTER recently became the fastest K-pop girl group to surpass 10 million official channel subscribers in one year and five months from debut, earning the title "the next-generation YouTube queen." The group has 11 videos with over 100 million views and more than 5.6 billion cumulative views. Given its overwhelming momentum, there is strong interest in how it will continue to perform.
Meanwhile, BABYMONSTER will make a comeback on Oct. 10 with mini album 2 [WE GO UP]. It includes four new songs: the hip-hop-based title track "WE GO UP" with intense energy, the impactful "PSYCHO," the slow track with hip-hop sensibility "SUPA DUPA LUV," and the country dance song "WILD."
