"The Mantis: Original Sin" Kim Bo-ra once again proved her flawless acting skills.
Kim Bo-ra led the story as Jung-yeon, the daughter-in-law of Lee Shin (played by Go Hyun-jung) and the wife of Su-yeol (played by Jang Dong-yoon), in the SBS Friday-Saturday drama "The Mantis: Original Sin," which ended on the 27th.
Jung-yeon, who always warmly and steadfastly protected Su-yeol, fell into deep confusion when she learned that her mother-in-law Lee Shin was the serial killer "The Mantis: Original Sin." She also learned the pregnancy news she had hoped for, but she showed delicate emotional changes, such as worrying about how to tell Su-yeol, who had concerns about starting a family.
In particular, Jung-yeon was not only kidnapped by her close older sister Ara (played by Han Dong-hee), whom she trusted, but also shocked and filled with betrayal when she learned that Ara was the real culprit who killed Min-jae (played by Lee Chang-min). Even as a hostage in extreme fear, she remembered a crucial clue to solving the case, and she drew attention by playing a character who held the key to the narrative.
Through her agency Noon Company, she said, "From last Nov. through Feb. of this year, through the drama "The Mantis: Original Sin," I was able to take on a role I had not experienced before, a role that is a bit more mature than before. I would like to sincerely thank director Byun Young-joo, who trusted me and cast me in previous works, and I also once again thank all the staff and actors who worked hard with me on the cold winter set without losing their smiles. I also sincerely thank the viewers who supported me, who still have many difficulties and things to learn in acting, and who showed love for the drama "The Mantis: Original Sin."" and shared her thoughts on the finale.
In this way, Kim Bo-ra vividly portrayed the character's extreme emotional changes, such as shock, terror, betrayal and fear, and convincingly expressed Jung-yeon's inner self. She increased immersion by showing Jung-yeon's unique resolve that does not waver even in a desperate hostage situation. Having proven a wide acting spectrum with a different face from her previous work, attention is focused on what kind of roles she will show in the future.<
