Han Dong-hee played the role of Seo Ara, a character with a twist, in SBS's Friday-Saturday drama "The Mantis: Original Sin," which concluded on the 27th.
In the drama, Ara always stayed by Jeong-yeon's side with a bright and kind demeanor, but in fact she was the criminal who harmed many people by imitating Lee Shin's (Ko Hyun-jung) crimes. She had been abused in childhood and witnessed Lee Shin killing her father, after which she changed her identity and gender and was Kang Yeon-jung.
After kidnapping Jeong-yeon and revealing her true nature, Ara threatened the pregnant Jeong-yeon and confronted Lee Shin, saying "I'm the only one who hasn't forgotten The Mantis: Original Sin," unleashing her madness. The scene in which she screamed at Lee Shin, "Don't go like this, mom!" in particular sent chills through viewers.
In this way, Han Dong-hee delicately yet powerfully portrayed Ara, whose killing intent and hidden reality were concealed behind a smile, becoming the center of the latter part of "The Mantis: Original Sin." From tense action to eerie lines, she handled everything without hesitation, heightening the suspense, and is being hailed as a new icon of the thriller genre.
Having made a clear impression on viewers with this work, Han Dong-hee expressed her feelings about the show's end through her agency Noon Company, saying, "Director, writer and the staff who worked with me, and the senior actors, I was so happy throughout the shoot thanks to you. Thank you for creating unforgettable memories for me, who still has much to learn. I will come back in another form."
Meanwhile, Han Dong-hee announced that she has been cast as Lieutenant Jo Ye-rin in the TVing original series "Becoming a Cook Legend," signaling active future activities.<
