He was called the godfather of the comedy world for his devotion to the development of comedy, and he left a significant mark on Korea's entertainment history.
At the funeral service, disciple Kim Shin-young read a eulogy amid sobbing that moved everyone's hearts. Kim Shin-young said, "At the hospital he told me, 'being a friend with a big age gap' was enjoyable. He said thank you. He called me a friend beyond a disciple. Earlier, Kim Shin-young left her workplace, MBC FM4U's 'Noon Hope Song, I'm Kim Shin-young' and went down to Jeonbuk National University Hospital to be at the late man's deathbed. At the time the production team simply said it was a "personal schedule," but the real reason revealed later was to be with her teacher for his final moments.
