After hearing Lee Heon's confession asking her to become his companion, Yeon Ji-young pushed him away, saying she was someone who would have to leave someday. Still, she comforted Lee Heon by promising she would return if he was not a tyrant, adding a poignant touch. Sensing Yeon Ji-young's feelings, Lee Heon responded with a warm embrace, deepening the couple's emotions.
Meanwhile, the birthday banquet for Grand Queen Dowager Inju (played by Seo Yi-sook) approached. Yeon Ji-young prepared a feast for the Grand Queen Dowager, and Lee Heon, recalling memories of his grandmother from childhood, prepared a choyongmu—a ceremonial dance—to express his congratulations. Seeing Lee Heon and the Grand Queen Dowager exchanging blessings as grandson and grandmother rather than king and dowager made Yeon Ji-young beam with happiness.
However, the banquet's atmosphere froze when Lee Jang-gyun (played by Lee Se-ho), who held the palace records containing the truth surrounding the deposed queen's death, appeared at the banquet on Lee Heon's secret order. This was because Je-san Daegun (played by Choi Gwi-hwa) had taken Lee Jang-gyun's family hostage to provoke Lee Heon into rampage and forced Lee Jang-gyun to show the palace records and the deposed queen's mother before Lee Heon.

Deceived by the lie that Yeon Ji-young had been abducted, Lee Heon entered the forest full of assassins unaware of anything and was driven into mortal peril.
To make matters worse, Yeon Ji-young was also chased by the rebel forces, and the two faced a desperate crisis. With Yeon Ji-young's efforts to stop the coup wasted, questions remain about whether Yeon Ji-young and Lee Heon will survive to the end and meet each other again.
