'Jun Hyun-moo plan 2' Jun Hyun-moo enjoyed a comforting and candid food trip on the special 'restaurants people line up for' with Napoli Maffia and Choi Kang-hee.
On the 26th (Fri) in episode 48 of the full-fledged real street food documentary 'Jun Hyun-moo plan 2' (co-produced by MBN and Channel S), Jun Hyun-moo launched a 'one-day food bro' trip with Napoli Maffia (Chef Kwon Seong-jun) and 'food friend' Choi Kang-hee for the 'restaurants people line up for' special. They started with the chicken gomtang known as the favorite of S Group Chairman Chung Yong-jin, then conquered a 60-year-old authentic 'Mugyodong stir-fried octopus' restaurant, Korea's oldest bakery, and the original of the original jokbal restaurant in Jangchung-dong, delivering a full culinary healing experience to home viewers.
That day, with Napoli Maffia, the winner of 'Culinary Class Wars', appearing in place of KwakTube (Kwak Jun-bin), Jun Hyun-moo declared the 'restaurants people line up for' special, saying, "We go to old establishments, so it'll help Napoli Maffia too." Napoli Maffia said, "Actually I don't stand in line. I rarely eat out and hardly leave the house," and Jun Hyun-moo said, "I'm a homebody too. You don't drink or smoke, right?" switching to 'soul mate' mode. Napoli Maffia then jokingly vowed, "Now I have to take KwakTube hyung's spot," causing laughter. Immediately after, Jun Hyun-moo shared a pro tip, "The line is too long at lunchtime. If you don't want to wait, do an open run," and headed to a chicken gomtang restaurant. After tasting the chicken gomtang and various side dishes there, Napoli Maffia praised, "The seasoning is amazing. You should appear on 'Culinary Class Wars' as 'Seochon Gangwi'."
As they moved to the next course after warming their stomachs with chicken gomtang, Jun Hyun-moo hesitated and said, "No one asks this question..." then asked, "What if the final opponent on 'Culinary Class Wars' had been Chef Anh Sung-jae? Let's assume the judge is Chef Gordon Ramsay." Napoli Maffia replied, "If someone else were the judge I'd lose, but if it's Chef Gordon Ramsay I'd win. I started cooking because of him. I watched 1,000 of his videos. Actually (even during 'Culinary Class Wars') I was able to analyze Chef Anh Sung-jae like this and target his history and tastes," surprising those present.
Shortly after, the two arrived at the Mugyodong stir-fried octopus restaurant and ordered the expert spicy, medium spicy versions of the stir-fried octopus and a clam soup. While waiting for the food, Jun Hyun-moo asked, "Where did you spend the 300 million won prize from 'Culinary Class Wars'?" Napoli Maffia answered, "I guard against becoming lazy, so I spent it exactly and rented a 300 million won jeonse house right in front of my restaurant." Jun Hyun-moo praised, "You have a well-built routine for success." On the other hand, when Napoli Maffia showed the twist of not handling spicy food well and repeatedly making 'seupsseup haha' sounds, Jun Hyun-moo laughed and said, "He's similar to KwakTube."
After finishing the mukbang by making a stir-fried octopus bibimbap, Jun Hyun-moo parted ways with Napoli Maffia and headed to Jangchung-dong to meet Choi Kang-hee. The two first went to a bakery established in 1946 and conducted a nostalgic 'bread mukbang', sampling everything from cream bread to monaka. Next, they went to the original of the original jokbal restaurant among Jangchung-dong jokbal places and were served front leg jokbal. After tasting it, Choi Kang-hee happily said, "Is jokbal normally this tender? I never expected jokbal to become my soul food."
Meanwhile, Jun Hyun-moo asked, "Don't you often hear, 'Why do you look so young?' when you go out?" and Choi Kang-hee modestly replied, "Where is 'looking young' now? The whole nation looks young~" Choi Kang-hee is 47 this year. She candidly added, "I really feel aging these days. When I look in the mirror at home or I buy clothes online seeing young people wearing them, the feeling is different between me and that friend."
Choi Kang-hee also responded to Jun Hyun-moo's question, "It's surprising that a lazy person like you got into running," saying, "Maybe because I move my body, my organs feel organized. The best thing is, like 'Run Hani', when my mind is weary I run and my stress is healthily relieved." Jun Hyun-moo gently asked, "We're in our late 40s; do you have realistic concerns?" Choi Kang-hee confessed, "I wish I had a close friend like Lee Hyori or Hong Hyun-hee. There was a time I was very lonely because I didn't want to live alone, and after that passed I wondered, 'Is this how it feels to get older?' It's scary. My hopes almost feel broken." In response to Choi Kang-hee's honest confession, Jun Hyun-moo unexpectedly asked, "What's your ideal type?" but Choi Kang-hee candidly said, "I won't answer..." and added, "When will I meet my ideal type? When will I date? Just come eat jokbal with me~," leaving the set in uproar.
As Jun Hyun-moo and Choi Kang-hee's same-age mukbang and 'shared plight' talk wrapped up the 'restaurants people line up for' special food trip, the co-produced variety show 'Jun Hyun-moo plan' by MBN and Channel S will return to viewers with season 3 at 9:10 p.m. on Oct. 17 after two weeks of retooling.
