TV personality Kim Gu-ra, 54, opened up about the guilty feelings he had when he first heard the news of his second daughter's pregnancy.
Kim Gu-ra recalled in a video posted on singer K.Will's YouTube channel, "My wife was born in 1982, and with Dong-hyeon already in the family and our ages, we had agreed not to try for a second child." He continued, "After our child happened to my wife, she thought it over for a few days and then told me, saying she was sorry. So I told her there was nothing to be sorry about," adding, "What I felt sorry about, rather, was that I might not react like parents who had desperately wanted a child—crying and all." He added, "My wife didn't feel particularly hurt by that."
Kim Gu-ra said that now his love for his daughter is stronger than anyone's. "Actor Lee Byung-hun once talked about a second child and said, 'There's a special joy a second child brings. Why do you answer so dryly?' Now I understand what he meant. She's so adorable," he said.
He took a firm stance on exposing his children to broadcasting. "If it were now, I wouldn't have let Dong-hyeon appear on TV. Even less so the second child. I've received several offers, but I turned them down, asking, 'If you were me, would you do it?'" he said. "No matter how hard things are financially, I wouldn't do it even if the appearance fee were in the hundreds of millions of won. Unless the child personally wants it, I will never allow it," he emphasized.
Kim Gu-ra remarried in 2020 to a non-celebrity 12 years his junior.
