Singer Jin Mi-ryeong mourned her ex-husband, the late Jeon Yu-seong, with a funeral wreath.
The late comedian Jeon Yu-seong's funeral parlor was set up in Room 1 of Asan Medical Center in Seoul, and mourners have been arriving since early morning.
Meanwhile, the late man's former wife, Jin Mi-ryeong, sent a funeral wreath to the wake. Jin Mi-ryeong and Jeon Yu-seong married in 1993. At the time, Jeon Yu-seong was remarrying and Jin Mi-ryeong was marrying for the first time, and the two began their marital life as a de facto marriage without registering their marriage. However, they separated in 2011 after about 20 years of marriage.
In a 2020 broadcast, Jin Mi-ryeong spoke about her breakup with Jeon Yu-seong, saying "Jeon Yu-seong is, in any case, a good person. We separated because our personalities just didn't match."
The funeral wreath sent by Jin Mi-ryeong bore the phrase "We respectfully pray for the deceased's happiness in the afterlife."
Jeon Yu-seong died on the 25th at around 9:05 p.m. at Jeonbuk National University Hospital, where he had been hospitalized, as symptoms of pulmonary fibrosis worsened. He refused life-sustaining treatment. He was 76. The wake is at Asan Medical Center in Seoul.
Jeon Yu-seong's funeral will be held by the Korea Comedian Association. The burial site is in Inwol-myeon, Namwon.
