SBS Thursday entertainment show 'Hantang Project - My Turn' (hereinafter 'My Turn') concluded its grand finale yesterday (25th). In the final broadcast, Seo Jang-hoon's surprise appearance was announced, heightening viewers' anticipation.
In this final episode, the 'Ppongtan Boys'' rampage of desire unfolded in earnest. Lee Kyung-gyu and manager Kim Won-hoon searched for investors themselves for success, and at this event, the 'alter ego artisan' Lee Su-ji appeared transformed as a "Chinese big spender," turning the scene into a sea of laughter. But the real twist exploded when Seo Jang-hoon appeared as Lee Su-ji's boyfriend.
Seo Jang-hoon unexpectedly introduced Lee Su-ji as his "wealthy girlfriend who resembles Tang Wei," and the two embarrassed everyone with a painfully affectionate parade. Then the investor Lee Su-ji presented a shocking condition saying, "If you send out Tak Jae-hoon and recruit Seo Jang-hoon, I will invest 10 billion won," plunging Lee Kyung-gyu into conflict. After a moment of hesitation, he eventually became blinded by desire and abandoned Tak Jae-hoon, but the situation sharply reversed when the investor suddenly declared she would cancel the investment, heightening curiosity.
It did not end there. Lured by the huge event fee, the members went to none other than the birthday party of the big boss of the gangster group 'Sikgu-pa.' When actors Jo Woo-jin, Park Ji-hwan, and Lee Kyu-hyung, who exude overwhelming presence, appeared among dozens of gangsters, the Ppongtan Boys were driven into a life-or-death precarious situation.
Especially even though it was a plot setting, viewers' curiosity exploded over the identity of Seo Jang-hoon's "wealthy girlfriend who resembles Tang Wei." Reactions poured in saying, "Isn't she his real girlfriend?", but when it was revealed to be comedian Lee Su-ji's perfect alter ego performance, the scene was once again devastated.
Internet users reacted variously, saying, "Wow, I really thought this was real," "I keep confusing reality and the drama," "It was tense but funny until the end," and "Even though it's fiction, congratulations to the couple(?)", falling for 'My Turn''s unique charm until the end. 'My Turn' ended while delivering both dazzling twists and laughs, and that precarious "one big score dream" is likely to be remembered by viewers for a long time.
'My Turn' showed the essence of B-grade sensibility reality that could take any turn each episode, became the first SBS variety show to record seven consecutive weeks in Netflix's top 10, and before its finale it surged as high as No. 4, reaching the peak of its buzz.<
