"Problem Child in House" guest Yujin showed affection for her husband Ki Tae-young.
On the 25th broadcast of KBS 2TV variety show "Problem Child in House" (hereafter "Problem Child in House"), actress Yujin appeared as a guest and revealed a flood of love stories with her husband Ki Tae-young.
That day Yujin, despite being in her 15th year of marriage to Ki Tae-young, still gave off a newlywed-like atmosphere. She said, "When oppa proposed he said let's live for 50 years. I heard that and immediately said OK. Now we've lived 15 years. But after living 15 years it feels like we haven't lived 15 years. It felt like it went by so fast. I thought '50 years will go by quickly too,'" attracting attention.
Also, Yujin said she first met Ki Tae-young on the drama "Making a Fate" and confessed, "I kind of made the first move."
However, at that time Ki Tae-young had been putting up a huge wall. Yujin recalled, "At first we met as co-stars and there was a feeling of 'don't come near me.' He felt like someone with a big wall. My usual personality is to approach first if possible, but when I felt that I was like 'okay.' We really met, acted together, and then parted ways," she recalled.
About what caused Ki Tae-young's wall to break down, she said, "The drama was long so we had time to hang out together. One day we went to a jjimjilbang with the production team and maybe because it was a bit familiar he showed a new side. We gradually got closer and I asked for his phone number first. At that time I wanted to give him photos we took together rather than having ulterior motives," she said.
The two naturally continued public conversations and then met privately. Even so, Ki Tae-young wasn't interested in Yujin and instead talked about his own love life, which surprised everyone. Yujin said, "We went from strangers to colleagues who could communicate."
Later, while consoling Ki Tae-young after his breakup and sharing life stories, their text messages grew longer, and Yujin said, "Before I knew it we were talking for an hour at a time. I think if I hadn't asked for his phone number first we might not have gotten married," she confessed.
Then Kim Jong-kook asked, "What about Ki Tae-young did you fall for?" and Yujin showed affection, saying, "I thought if I married that man we'd live very well. In conversations he showed a family-oriented side and I pictured him living happily, having and raising children. I think both of our views on marriage matched. My husband is a very self-sacrificing person for the family."
Yujin, who said Ki Tae-young has the nickname 'Songdo Choi Soo-jong,' also said, "He's family-oriented. He only knows me and the children. Besides that it's exercise." Hearing this, Kim Jong-kook agreed, "That's how people who exercise are."
Also, Yujin said Ki Tae-young is a parenting expert who even mastered baby food. She said, "I returned to drama four months after giving birth to my first child. It was when starting baby food, and he made everything from early, middle, late to completed stages (of baby food)," which drew admiration.
The praise for her husband continued. Yujin said, "He's meticulous about everything. Ro-hee has long hair like me. He puts essence on it and takes care of it all. He also adjusts the hair dryer; those details are precise," and added, "When I was pregnant with our second he washed my hair for me."
She went on, "Because I had severe preterm labor. I spent time lying down. I lay down for months except for nights to eat and going to the bathroom. I couldn't go to the hairdresser so he connected three chairs like a salon and washed my hair like that," she added. Hearing this, Hong Jin Kyung said, "You're bragging a lot," but couldn't hide her envy.
Yujin explained, "The reason I want to brag is because oppa does childcare at home and has no visible activities outside, so people around think he's just playing." In response, Joo Woo-jae exclaimed, "At this point it feels like reading a biography of senior Ki Tae-young."
