Actor Jo Jae-yoon of 'My Way - Overimmersion Club' revealed why he earned as many as 12 certificates.
On the 24th, the TV CHOSUN variety show My Way - Overimmersion Club (hereinafter "My Way") aired its fourth episode, depicting the daily lives of actor Jo Jae-yoon, who immerses himself more than anyone, and Chae Jung-an, who is finding a healthy overimmersion life.
First, Jo Jae-yoon attracted attention with behind-the-scenes stories of his appearance in the drama Bon Appetit, Your Majesty, which is currently receiving a lot of love. Even though it was a special appearance and he reduced his appearance fee, Jo Jae-yoon said he devoted himself to practicing Chinese, cooking, martial arts and more to portray the Ming chef Dang Baek-ryong. His behind-the-scenes story that he devoted as much as three and a half months to this work led viewers to guess the secret of his outstanding acting.
Known as a "pro overimmerser" who overimmerses in everything he takes on, Jo Jae-yoon said he usually overimmerses in earning certificates. He said he holds as many as 12 certificates, including for excavators, large trailers, boats, emergency vehicles, ship operation and Korean cuisine cooking technician, and that he is even preparing for a helicopter pilot certificate, which surprised everyone.
He said that thanks to his Korean cuisine cooking technician certificate, he personally filmed a scene using advanced knife skills during the filming of Bon Appetit, Your Majesty. He also revealed that he used his excavator certificate to volunteer his skills during the wildfires in Goseong and Andong, drawing admiration.
He also enjoyed healing through his certificates. Visiting Soya Island with his college alumnus and close friend actor Yoon Seo-hyun, Jo Jae-yoon piloted a boat to go fishing and used the catch to cook. In front of his close senior Yoon Seo-hyun, he candidly said the reason he earns certificates is "I see myself with fewer roles," explaining it was for preparing for old age. He added, "Everything is to make a living. I want to be remembered by my son as a cool dad who didn't give up on challenges for the family," adding emotional weight.
Meanwhile, "national first love" Chae Jung-an sparked curiosity by saying before revealing her daily life, "I don't like overimmersing." However, the life shown in the VCR was full of overimmersion. From the moment she woke up she started with acupressure, oil pulling, drinking salt water, a Mediterranean-style breakfast, washing her face, basic skin care, taking supplements and stretching. The actress's eight-step routine, which takes a full two hours, shocked everyone.
Also a fashion and beauty creator, she called her YouTube channel a "hobby," but she scouted offices in Hannam-dong for shoots and actively conducted location scouting. Chae Jung-an said, "I always thought I didn't have anything I liked, but my friends said, 'You seem serious about YouTube. You look happy these days,'" and revealed she is overimmersed in creating her own content. She then realized that "overimmersion" is an energy that gives life vitality and vowed to continue showing a healthy overimmersion life.
Meanwhile, the preview shown at the end of the broadcast raised expectations by featuring actor Choi Gwi-hwa, who overimmerses in weeds, and Jewelry's Lee Ji-hyun, who is preparing for a second life as a hairdresser.
