The Liberation Day 80th anniversary KBS special project 'Cho Yong-pil, Forever This Moment,' which will air on KBS on Oct. 6, is a solo stage by the legend Cho Yong-pil, who spans all generations of Korea, and his first solo performance on KBS in 28 years since the 1997 'Big Show.' The return of Cho Yong-pil, the 'king of singers' in popular music who has always been close to the people through music, is drawing intense interest.
In particular, on the 6th at the previously held 'Cho Yong-pil, Forever This Moment' concert, Cho Yong-pil passionately sang as many as 28 songs, leading to praise that it was one of the largest performances in the history of Gocheok Dome in terms of stage scale, quality and the explosive response of the audience. Expectations are rising for the broadcast of 'Cho Yong-pil, Forever This Moment,' which is expected to lead a nationwide singalong in living rooms during Chuseok with Cho Yong-pil's hits that span all generations.
Meanwhile, 'Cho Yong-pil, Forever This Moment' unusually decided to extend its runtime by 20 minutes, creating an opportunity to fully enjoy Cho Yong-pil's performance at home for a total of three hours.
The sudden decision to expand the broadcast was made to more vividly convey the heat of every stage of 'Cho Yong-pil, Forever This Moment' and to improve the quality of the broadcast. In addition, the schedule change was made decisively as a form of respect for Cho Yong-pil, a national treasure-level artist and the beginning and end of Korean music.
KBS said, "We made the unusual decision to extend the broadcast by 20 minutes based on an internal determination that we could not omit a single song from the long-awaited stage of 'Cho Yong-pil, Forever This Moment,' which the entire nation has awaited for a long time," and added, "We hope families enjoy Cho Yong-pil's stage on KBS this Chuseok, meeting him on KBS for the first time in 28 years."
Meanwhile, the Liberation Day 80th anniversary KBS special project 'Cho Yong-pil, Forever This Moment' will air as a three-part special during the Chuseok holiday: on Oct. 3 at 10 p.m., 'Cho Yong-pil, Forever This Moment–Prequel'; on Oct. 6 at 7:20 p.m., the main performance 'Cho Yong-pil, Forever This Moment'; and finally on Oct. 8 at 7:20 p.m., the concert behind-the-scenes documentary 'Cho Yong-pil, Forever This Moment–Record of that day.'
