"The Mantis: Original Sin" Kim Bo-ra faces a major crisis.
SBS Friday-Saturday drama "The Mantis: Original Sin" (directed by Byun Young-joo, written by Lee Young-jong) is reaching its climax. Whether the brutal serial killer "The Mantis" Jeong I-sin (played by Go Hyun-jung) and her detective son Cha Soo-yeol (played by Jang Dong-yoon), through a joint investigation, can catch the perpetrator of the "The Mantis" copycat murders that occurred for the first time in 23 years, viewers are expected to be unable to relax until the drama ends.
In the recent "The Mantis: Original Sin" episodes 5–6, the outline of the perpetrator of the "The Mantis" copycat murders emerged. The perpetrator appears to be "Kang Yeon-jung," a child who was abused by the victim Jeong I-sin brutally killed 23 years ago. Now an adult after 23 years, "Kang Yeon-jung" is likely living as a woman after undergoing gender reassignment surgery. This raised greater curiosity about whether "Kang Yeon-jung" is truly the perpetrator of the "The Mantis" copycat murders and who "Kang Yeon-jung" really is.
Meanwhile, on Sept. 25 the production team of "The Mantis: Original Sin" released an image a day before the broadcast of episode 7 showing Cha Soo-yeol's wife Lee Jung-yeon (played by Kim Bo-ra) in an unprecedented crisis, drawing attention.
In the photo, Lee Jung-yeon is collapsed on the floor with both hands tightly bound in the dark. As curiosity mounts over who the black shadow in front of her is, the red blood flowing from Lee Jung-yeon's forehead and the wounds scattered across her face amplify unease. Her eyes, wide as if terrified, and an unidentified hand aiming at her create an eerily chilling feeling.
Earlier, Jeong I-sin warned Cha Soo-yeol that Lee Jung-yeon was in danger when she faced the prime suspect Seo Goo-wan (played by Lee Tae-gu). In fact, when she escaped from the assisted-living home, the person Jeong I-sin went to see was her daughter-in-law Lee Jung-yeon. As Jeong I-sin warned, Lee Jung-yeon has been placed in danger.
Relatedly, the production team of "The Mantis: Original Sin" said, "In episodes 7–8 airing this week, an all-out showdown unfolds between Jeong I-sin and Cha Soo-yeol and the perpetrator of the 'The Mantis' copycat murders. In the process, Cha Soo-yeol's most precious person, Lee Jung-yeon, falls into grave danger. As it is an important scene that heightens the drama's tension, actress Kim Bo-ra poured all her energy into detailed acting. We ask viewers for much interest and anticipation."
Who on earth drove Lee Jung-yeon to the brink of death? Could it be the perpetrator of the "The Mantis" copycat murders? Will Lee Jung-yeon safely escape the crisis? How will Lee Jung-yeon's crisis affect Jeong I-sin and Cha Soo-yeol's joint investigation? Leaving many questions and raising expectation, "The Mantis: Original Sin" episode 7 will air on Friday the 26th at 9:50 p.m.
