"Perfect Life" comedian Oh Jeong-tae's family was revealed.
On the 24th episode of TV Chosun entertainment "Perfect Life," comedian Oh Jeong-tae appeared. Before his appearance, he had his face covered while taking photos with Park Bo-gum, Heo Seong-tae and Lee Sang-i, piquing curiosity in the studio that he might be an actor or an incredibly handsome person. But when Oh Jeong-tae appeared everyone was shocked. Oh Jeong-tae said "I filmed a drama with Park Bo-gum. I posted this and comedian friends jokingly commented 'It's neck-and-neck with Park Bo-gum,'" explaining that it was not an attempt to draw attention to himself.
Oh Jeong-tae recently became a topic of conversation because his eldest daughter entered a science high school. Neither Oh Jeong-tae nor his wife ever pushed the children to study, but the daughters showed interest in studying and enthusiastically set goals and pursued them. So much so that an admissions consultant, after looking at the workbook problems Oh Jeong-tae's daughter had solved, praised it as an impeccable study method, saying "this shows a perfect understanding of the concepts." The second daughter is still a middle school student and wanted to enter a gifted school, and that too received a positive evaluation.
At the time, Oh Jeong-tae and his wife became a hot topic when they said, "Why is our daughter like this?" as they were astonished to see their children finding their own paths without being pushed.
That day Oh Jeong-tae appeared with his mother and showed a warm, friendly demeanor. But when talking about her health, Oh Jeong-tae's expression grew somber. Oh Jeong-tae said "And my mother has stage 4 degenerative arthritis. Just watching her walk breaks my heart, and her hands are deformed and truly painful."
A specialist said, "You need to distinguish between degenerative arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Degenerative arthritis loosens a bit even if it's stiff in the morning, but rheumatoid shows on the back of the hands and the pain lasts longer than in the morning," and added, "And the inner knee joint becomes very narrow. The inner cartilage is heavily worn so the bones hit each other. The inner bone also collapses, resulting in a relatively pronounced O-legged appearance. It appears to be degenerative arthritis stage 4," and "Cartilage has no nerves. But you don't know until more than 70% of the cartilage is worn away. By the time you feel pain and come in, degenerative arthritis has already begun," explaining arthritis.
Oh Jeong-tae's mother already has deformed hands and O legs. With that condition she was caring for her husband. Oh Jeong-tae's father was diagnosed with dementia last year. Oh Jeong-tae's mother said, "He attends a senior day center. He's sensitive about doing things like washing himself," and explained how she realized her husband was in the early stages of dementia: "At first I didn't realize when he suspected me if I returned late. But he couldn't find our home address. That's when I became suspicious."
Oh Jeong-tae said, "We went on a Seorak Mountain trip and my mother's knee hurt so she didn't go alone," expressing his sadness that his mother was often excluded from family trips. Doctors all emphasized the importance of joint health.
