The truth behind a brutal murder is pursued on "Brave Detectives 4."
On the 53rd episode of T-cast E Channel's "Brave Detectives 4" (directed by Lee Ji-seon), airing on the 26th, detective Kim Hee-jong and KCSI forensic squad former superintendent Yoon Oe-chul and inspector Kim Jin-su grants appear to reveal the investigation.
That episode begins when a woman returning home after closing her shop witnesses a fire at a nearby sojubang and calls 119. The scene was a one-story prefabricated building vulnerable to fire, and the blaze was extinguished in 20 minutes. But firefighters found the body of the sojubang owner wrapped in a blanket inside the shop.
The body showed stab wounds across the body and signs of blunt force trauma, and a kitchen knife was placed on the back, adding to the shock. The investigation team began inquiries with the possibility of an acquaintance offender in mind, but villagers were reluctant to speak. Then a tip came in saying, "I saw a man with frightening eyes sitting in the corner of the shop that night," and the case entered a new phase. With talk that the man was not from the village, who exactly was the killer and why did he brutally murder the owner?
KCSI then digs into a robbery-murder disguised as an online gold transaction. A man walked in bleeding from the head and called 112, saying he had been robbed and asking for help. The victim was attacked while trying to sell gold on an online site, and the gold stolen by the perpetrator amounted to as much as 100 don.
The investigation team retraced the direction the victim had walked and secured the crime scene and CCTV. The footage showed the victim placing a hand on his head and getting out of the driver's seat, then the suspect getting out right after, striking the victim's head repeatedly and stealing the bag and vehicle before fleeing. He used burner phones to avoid being tracked and prepared tools for the crime, carrying out the crime in a planned manner. The identified suspect was already wanted for a fraud case. In the process, the victim ultimately died in the intensive care unit, and the case was reclassified as a robbery-murder. The full details of the brutal sojubang murder and the gold transaction murder can be seen on "Brave Detectives 4."
