Comedian Jeon Yu-seong's rumored health concerns have resurfaced, and his recent appearance on a broadcast has become a hot topic. He met Park Na-rae without notice, giving viewers a pleasant surprise.
Jeon Yu-seong made a surprise appearance on the MBC variety show Home Alone that aired on Jun. 6, which startled viewers.
The broadcast at the time featured Park Na-rae going to Jirisan to meet master Yang Jae-joong, an expert in fish roe. Park Na-rae learned how to make fish roe directly from Yang Jae-joong and was also treated to the master's mother's cooking. During this process, Jeon Yu-seong, who is close to Yang Jae-joong, made a surprise appearance and greeted Park Na-rae.
Park Na-rae was surprised to see Jeon Yu-seong, whom she met suddenly. In the studio she said, "It's understandable to be surprised. How surprised do you think I was?" and explained, "He says he lives right next door to the fish roe brother (master Yang Jae-joong). I heard they're very close. He is a teacher." Lim Woo-il also expressed respect, saying, "He is the person who created the word comedian."
After exchanging greetings with Park Na-rae, Jeon Yu-seong calmly said, "I live in this neighborhood. Sit and do it. I came to eat." He moved aside so Park Na-rae could focus on making fish roe, and Park Na-rae later regretted, saying, "If I had known I would meet the teacher, I would have bought something."
After making the fish roe, Park Na-rae ate the rice that Yang Jae-joong's mother had prepared and expressed admiration. When Park Na-rae was surprised by the table filled with Jirisan greens and delicious side dishes, Jeon Yu-seong, sitting beside her, joked, "It looks like a lot, but many of them are the same type," which drew laughter. When Yang Jae-joong made a not-very-funny joke and said, "I learned that from (Jeon Yu-seong)," Jeon playfully replied, "Did I say that? That's not my style at all. That's Im Ha-ryong's style."
Then, when Yang Jae-joong tried to introduce Park Na-rae to a bachelor in the village who grows grapes and said, "I arranged it several times but he can't speak," Jeon Yu-seong drew attention by actively recommending, "Still, Narae is the perfect height to pick grapes."
In the broadcast, Jeon Yu-seong delighted viewers with his surprise appearance. His rare appearance on television added to the delight, and although he looked somewhat thin, he drew laughs with the same wit as in his active days. Park Na-rae also seemed very happy to meet her senior after a long time.
Earlier, Jeon Yu-seong had drawn attention when he served as the officiant at Cho Sae-ho's wedding last year and his recent condition was reported. It was later revealed that he was hospitalized for a pneumothorax in Jul., and he also missed the Busan International Comedy Festival (BICF) comedy book concert in Jun. due to health issues.
Amid the subsequent reports of critical health concerns, a representative for Jeon Yu-seong told OSEN on the 25th, "It's difficult to say. Pneumothorax occurred in both lungs, making it hard to breathe, so he is relying on an oxygen respirator, but he is conscious and has short conversations with visitors, though he gets very winded," and cautiously added, "His current condition is not good, but it was not to the extent that should be taken as critical."
