Ha Won-mi, the wife of baseball player Choo Shin-soo, took on sex education for her son.
On the 24th, a video titled "I secretly followed my son to an Itaewon club without Choo Shin-soo knowing" was uploaded to Ha Won-mi's YouTube channel.
That day Ha followed her eldest son, Choo Moo-bin, who had plans at an Itaewon club. She persuaded her son, who said he was going to a club, saying, "I think you can go to Itaewon Station. Should I take you? Anyway, if you're going you should take a taxi," and the tempted Choo Moo-bin said, "Take me."
Ha laughed, "Okay. Mom will take her son to the club. It's really funny. What about a mom who takes her son to a club?" then teased, "Why don't we go into that club too? Right? Should I go change my clothes, mom?" Choo Moo-bin shook his head and said, "No," and Ha asked, "Wouldn't it be okay if mom wore sunglasses and a hat and went in?"
Choo Moo-bin waved his hand and said, "No, don't," and when asked, "Why are you embarrassed?" he immediately answered, "Uh," prompting laughter. Ha then asked, "Then what if you go in without a hat and without sunglasses?" and Choo Moo-bin drew a line, saying, "Then pretend you don't know me." Ha imagined, "What if men start talking to mom? What if you saw that?" and after pondering, Choo Moo-bin said, "Then... I don't know... I hate it all," which made everyone burst out laughing.
Ha expressed affection, "He's so cute. He was like a baby and now he's grown up and says he's going to a club," and the producer asked, "What do you do at a club?" Choo Moo-bin said, "I meet old friends again." Now 21 years old this year, when asked, "Do you usually go to clubs often?" he answered, "If I'm not playing baseball I'm a really bored person, so with friends we only go to clubs," prompting Ha to correct, "Not only clubs, we also go to clubs. If you say 'only go to clubs' it sounds like you only go to clubs."
Choo Moo-bin said, "We also go to clubs. When I'm not playing baseball I sleep, play games, video call friends, go out to eat, and other than that I don't do anything. I've danced a lot since I was young," and showed a video demonstrating his dance skills. The producer asked, "Do you dance like that at clubs?" and Choo Moo-bin shyly reenacted his club behavior, saying, "Clubs aren't like this level."
The producer said, "I think there will be people who recognize you at the club," and Choo Moo-bin said, "There are. They come up to me and say things, but if they just pass by, I hear them. When they pass by they just say 'Choo choo choo choo,' that's all," he said. Ha said, "He doesn't call me either. If he doesn't have a girlfriend he video calls me more than five times a day. Once he has a girlfriend he doesn't contact anyone. He's the type to go all in when he has a girlfriend," revealing a romantic side very much like Choo Shin-soo.
The producer asked, "How far is physical contact allowed just before dating?" and Choo Moo-bin said, "First, kissing is not allowed. Holding hands is not allowed either," but when asked, "Is hugging okay?" he pondered and said, "I do a lot of things like that. When we walk on the street the man is always on the outside. I switch places by putting my hand on the waist and stepping back to change. And then other things..."
Ha asked, "Does Moo-bin prefer slow physical contact or fast?" and Choo Moo-bin honestly said, "I really don't like fast. If it's a bit slower it's fine." Hearing this, Ha said, "That's a healthy way of thinking. My husband and I have that approach to education. If we keep these things hidden out of shame and embarrassment, children go more into the shadows. I think opening up about what is wrong behavior and what is right and talking about it openly helps children move toward healthier choices. Mom and dad had a child before they were married. Our Moo-bin calls it 'oops baby.' We didn't know much. We were too young, so we opened everything up," she revealed candidly.
The producer said, "So you're not into premarital chastity then," and Ha joked, "We're not premarital chaste. (Moo-bin is) an 'oops baby,' so what kind of premarital chastity is that?" She asked Choo Moo-bin, "Do you know what they're talking about? You don't know what premarital chastity is, do you?" then explained, "It means you absolutely should not have sex before marriage. But mom and dad had an 'oops baby' before marriage. My home was strict. Even though it was strict, we did everything. Our house had a 9 p.m. curfew. But we did everything before 9 p.m. If that's the case, let's just be open and talk about things in a healthy way. Make clear boundaries about what must be observed and always. Healthy sex education," she said frankly.
Meanwhile, Choo Shin-soo and Ha Won-mi married in December 2004 and welcomed their first son, Choo Moo-bin (English name Allan Choo), in March the following year. The couple currently have under their care eldest son Choo Moo-bin, second son Choo Gun-woo (Aiden Choo), and daughter Choo So-hee (Abigail Choo). In particular, Choo Moo-bin is currently active as a baseball player in the United States.
