KBS2's 'The Return of Superman' features Shim Hyung-tak's 223-day-old son Haru taking his first swim.
'The Return of Superman' (directed by Kim Young-min, hereafter "The Return") has been loved by the public for 13 years since its debut in 2013. In 2023 following Eun-woo, in the second and third weeks of June, in the TV-OTT non-drama institutional sector grants popularity ranking, The Return's Jung-woo entered the top 10 for two consecutive weeks, proving he is the youngest and most sensationally popular sibling. Today (24th), episode 591 of The Return, titled "Thank you every day," features the three MCs Park Soo-hong, Choi Ji-woo and Ahn Young-mi together with supermen Kim Jun-ho and Shim Hyung-tak.
Shim Hyung-tak's son Haru draws attention by showing a manga-cutout baby–style swimsuit look. Previously transformed into "watermelon Haru," this time Haru becomes a human pineapple from head to toe, exploding with cuteness.
Haru's cuteness explodes in the water. As soon as he enters, Haru adapts perfectly to the water, surprising those around him. Wearing a neck tube with only his head above water, Haru kicks with his chubby thigh strength, splashing forward showing his instinct to go straight, and even makes an unexpected turn, instantly capturing everyone's attention. Haru even calmly eats rice crackers on the water, showing the makings of a swimming prodigy. Park Soo-hong says, "Is this Haru's first time at the pool?" and marvels at Haru's swimming prodigy moment as he confidently moves through the water in his first swim.
Dotingly proud father Shim Hyung-tak's eyes widen at Haru's swimming skill. He gushes, "Haru does both freestyle and backstroke," and jokes, "I should make Haru a swim athlete," eliciting laughter as the proud father decides his child's future because of his exceptional water adaptability.
Haru's standout swimsuit visuals and swimmer-level skills will be revealed in tonight's broadcast of The Return.
The Return of Superman airs every Wednesday at 8:30 p.m.
